Had body work done somewhere else and something is not right? Bring it to us. We will look at it with you, free.
Modern vehicles are built to come apart in a crash in a specific way, and to be put back together in a specific way. When a shop takes shortcuts, the car can look fine in the parking lot and still be wrong underneath.
Sometimes the owner notices right away. A door that sticks. Paint that does not match in sunlight. A warning light that was not there before. More often it shows up months later, when rust creeps out of a seam or the tires wear out on one edge.
We inspect work other shops did. We tell you what we find, in plain language, and we put it in writing so you have something to take to the shop, the insurer, or both.
Uneven gaps, a hood or trunk that sits proud, doors that need a shove to latch.
Color that does not match in daylight, orange peel, overspray on trim or glass, dull patches.
Bare metal that was never sealed properly will tell on itself within a year or two.
New wind noise at speed, a rattle that was not there, or water finding its way inside.
A wheel that is off center, pulling to one side, or tires wearing unevenly after a hit.
A light that appeared after the repair often means a sensor or camera was never recalibrated.
We go over the vehicle with you, not in a back room. The visual inspection covers fit and alignment, paint quality and color match, evidence of corrosion protection at repaired seams, what parts appear to have been used, and whether anything obvious was left undone.
If what we see suggests a deeper problem, we will tell you what it would take to confirm it, whether that is a diagnostic scan, a frame measurement, or pulling a panel. We quote that before we touch anything. Nothing gets done without you agreeing to it first.
If the work is sound, we will tell you that and you owe us nothing. That happens, and it is a good answer to get.
If it is not sound, you have options. The shop that did the work may owe you a correction under its warranty. The insurer may owe a supplement for work that was never performed. Or you may decide to have it put right and move on. Whichever way you go, you will have documentation of what was actually found instead of your word against theirs.
And you are not obligated to go back to the shop that did it. Louisiana law lets you choose, on a re-repair the same as the first time.
A post-repair inspection is a second look at collision work another shop already finished. We check whether the repair was done to the vehicle manufacturer's procedures, whether panels and structure line up, whether the paint was applied correctly, and whether safety systems were restored.
Our visual post-repair inspection is free. Bring the vehicle to 4609 Airline Drive in Metairie and we will look at it with you. If we find something that needs disassembly, scans or frame measurement to confirm, we will tell you what that costs before we do anything.
Uneven panel gaps, doors or trunk that do not close cleanly, paint that does not match in daylight, orange peel or overspray, rust appearing at a repaired seam, new wind or road noise, a steering wheel that is off center, tires wearing unevenly, or a warning light that came on after the repair.
Usually yes. Most poor repairs can be corrected, though what it takes depends on what was done. Cosmetic and paint problems are straightforward. Structural shortcuts and missed calibrations are more involved, which is exactly why it is worth having them found and documented.
It depends. The original shop may be responsible under its warranty, the insurer may owe a supplement, or it may fall to you. We document what we find in writing so you have something to take to whoever is accountable, rather than an argument with no evidence behind it.
No. In Louisiana you have the right to select the repair facility of your choice, including for a re-repair. See our page on your right to choose for the law behind that.
